About Old Town Gardens

In Chicago, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Illinois, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 amβ5 pm. It is closed on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Old Town Gardens at (312) 266-6300; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The owner and the landscapers here are very nice and so very helpful. Also, they are very reasonable with their prices, especially in the city. I'm very pleased with their plants, trees and landscaping services. I fully support this Old Town small business!!

Just had the most humbling phone call of my life βΊοΈ Called a plant store to ask if they carried seeds for herbs and flowers because, you knowβ¦ plant store π± The owner very condescendingly goes, βUm, no.β So naturally I said, βOh Iβm so sorry, was that a stupid question to ask a plant store if they carry seeds?β To which she replied, βYes, actually. Thatβs a really dumb question. I havenβt carried seeds in 25 years.β β¦and then hung up on me π Anyway, Iβll be taking my happy little seed-planting ass to Home Depot where apparently dreams are still alive. Thank you sooo much.

Pretty. Flowers are decently priced. Itβs the containers and pots that are a bit pricey. About $100 to make (I had the soil at home) The container was $30 and metal hook was probably around $5-10
